Lyme disease cases on the rise in Kalamazoo County
KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) – Officials with the Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services Dept. are warning residents of the rising number of Lyme Disease cases in the county.
Statistics indicate the numbers are 13% over last year’s totals, and five times what they were five years ago.
Residents should know where ticks live, should walk on trails and stay away from tall grass and brush, and should protect clothing and gear with 0.5% permethrin.
